As for many pupils throughout the country today was my first day back in school.... and it was the day that wasn't !!
For starters there was the wonders of double ICT, Tech, Maths and a final Tech lesson to complete a wonderful day !
Before I even got to school I realised it wasn't going to be a good day: I got out of bed and it was cold !! You know how it is when you're all cosy in bed and then the alarm clock goes off... I was not amused. However I was quite proud of myself as I only pressed the snooze button 3 times.
I know that feeling all to well
After throwing myself out of bed into the freezing cold and getting myself ready for school I then threw myself into the bloody freezing (!!!) wonders of the outside world.
Then school: Everything was fine until 3rd lesson...
Maths - the long awaited mocks result .... I probably would have been happier not knowing. For me 56% is quite bad !! I was totally demoralised! I felt quite confident that I was going to do well at maths, sorting everything out in the revision sessions etc, but with my result like that...
WOMPH !!! Everything comes crashing down around you ! It's like the class screaming "You suck!" continually !!
But one has to face it that you can't be good at everything all the time. So after this little "hiccup" (!!) we now know that I have to work on maths !!
The one thing I am a bit worried about is the fact that I need a predicted GCSE grade from her soon. So.... if I take her in a box of chocolates or bring her in a few bottles of wine and ger her drunk or accidentally leave a brown paper bag on her desk then I might get a decent grade!!
Now things did begin to pick up last lesson. After completing all the work in our tech class I spent the majority of the lesson talking to people and watching the humourous events that followed the pressing of the button !!
Rhys, the "button pusher" - OOOOOOOMMM !!! - pressed the water spray button on the PCB machine and slowly the water began to rise... after panicing and pressing the button again the water level began to reach the top and instead of overflowing water began to pour out the bottom. Oh the look of his face, the "oh shit" look was priceless!!
